Today I am praying for Obama.

I’m praying for a renewed confidence in the American people, the same people who have a freedom like no other on Earth.

Regardless of your political or religious views pray for the man that will lead this great nation.

Pray for wisdom. Pray for discernment. Pray for strength. Pray for patience. Pray for leadership. Pray for integrity. Pray for the safety of Obama AND his family. Pray for courage.

I have been working out…

So one of my New Years Resolutions was to start working out and eating healthy. Today marks the end of my first week.  I ain’t gonna lie….it’s been tuff. Being sore everyday, eating more vegetables, and staying strong even though I might be tempted by all the delicious assortment of cookies in the kitchen at the church. yum.

This is definitely a lifestyle change that needed to happen.  I already have more energy and feel better throughout the day. I started thinking….I know, it hurts to do that. Anyway, as simple as it sounds our life with Christ works the same way.  If I am constantly throwing the junk of this world into my head, and not exercising my faith, then I am unhealthy.  Im fat, bloated, and get out of breath quickly every step I try to take with God.

On the other hand, if I stay committed and seek after God’s desires step by step, feeding my mind, body, and soul with Scripture, I start becoming healthier. I start doing some reps and put to practice the practical and relational love the Jesus teaches I become a better man….lean muscle, decreased fat.

What is it in your life that your need to get healthy in?

With 2008 behind us, 2009 is a year that can offer new beginnings, new decisions, and new choices. In the journey of life there are many things that help direct our paths to making those life changing commitments that could affect us for the rest of our life. In the upcoming series, Road Signs, we will look to the book of Proverbs for wisdom to help each of us navigate the choices of life, because we know that each choice determines the direction of our lives. And it is our direction, not our intention, that ultimately determines our destination. Where are you heading? What path are you on? And how do you get to where you want to go?
