Have you ever seen an eclipse?
How would you describe it?

e•clipse (n.)
An astronomical phenomenon that takes place when one supernatural object moves into the mysterious shadow of another.

There are certain events in our lives that happen all the time. But an eclipse only happens a few times a year. It’s a rare occasion. It’s a once in a lifetime experience.

Join other middle and high school students Sunday, April 12th at 10:30 a.m. to see how you can experience a real life eclipse.

This makes me want to fly…

Upside Down

Posted on 2009 03, 09 by dustin

So over the past few weeks we have been in a series called ‘Upside Down’. Through the series we are discovering and trying to understand the Kingdom of God. This concept was central to the message of Jesus. Here we are over 2,000 years later and we still don’t understand this idea and since it appears in the New Testament to many times to ignore, we need to understand the Kingdom of God

I am still learning and trying to embrace Jesus’ message of what this Kingdom looks like in my life. I truly believe that His kingdom in my life is where His will is being done and where his desires are more important than mine. There are so many times in our lives, mine included, where we put our selfish desires and wants before anything else. Shoot, that is what our world teaches us. It comes natural to us to want to be first. First in line. First place. First to be noticed. But this train of thought is the exact opposite of what Jesus’ message was all about.

Jesus’ message was inviting His followers and the people of the world to have a totally crazy way of life that is upside down in the way we think, live, and behave.  It looked crazy to everyone around Him, even the disciples. It sounded crazy to everyone who heard this message. To truly follow God means to accept the message and live an upside down life all the time. It’s hard. It’s difficult to put Him first and give up control of our lives and what comes natural to us. It looks different to our friends, family, and co-workers. It doesn’t make sense to people not even us.

Is your life upside down?  What are you willing to do to seek Gods Kingdom?
